1930s Hong Kong, singer Fleur (Anita MUI) falls for the dashing young playboy CHAN Chen-Pang (Leslie CHEUNG). They vow to elope in death, defying the world that keeps them apart. But fate is cruelโshe waits alone in the underworld. Half a century later, her spirit returns, wandering the neon-lit Hong Kong streets in search of a love long lost. He is still here, but the heart she once knew is not.
Director
Stanley KWAN (b. 1957) graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist College with a degree in mass communications. He once landed a job at Hong Kongโs Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) before working as production assistant for Ann HUI and other Hong Kong directors. His debut feature, Women (1985), starring CHOW Yun-fat, was a major box office success. As a key figure in the Hong Kong Second Wave, Kwan is best known for Rouge (1987), Full Moon in New York (1989), Center Stage (1992), Red Rose White Rose (1994) and Lan Yu (2001).
