After a devastating nuclear blast, Hong Kong’s clean water supply falls into the hands of a maniac (Anthony WONG). Reprising their roles from The Heroic Trio, Michelle YEOH, Anita MUI, and Maggie CHEUNG reunite to wage a life-or-death battle against evil and authoritarian power in a post-apocalyptic world that is darker, more absurd and more chaotic than ever.
Director
Johnnie TO (b. 1955) is one of Hong Kong’s most influential and prolific directors, known for his stylish crime thrillers, sharp genre subversions and vibrant commercial hits. Co-founder of Milkyway Image, he has garnered international acclaim with films such as The Mission (1999), PTU (2003), Election (2005) and Life Without Principle (2011), among others.
CHING Siu-tung (b. 1952) is a renowned Hong Kong director and action choreographer, celebrated for his groundbreaking work in martial arts cinema. As director, he is best known for A Chinese Ghost Story (1987) and The Swordsman series. A frequent collaborator with filmmakers such as TSUI Hark and Johnnie TO, Ching’s kinetic style and inventive choreography have left a lasting mark on the action genre across Asia and beyond.
