With depth and a unique angle, essay documentary Many Undulating Things offers informative insights into Hong Kong’s history, culture, natural and socio-political environment. The meditative and thoughtfully written narration demonstrates excellent research and academic training. Its plenty breathing moments give the viewer space to both digest the narrated segments and immerse themselves in the variety of audiovisual elements.
Director
Bo WANG (b. 1982) is an artist, award winning filmmaker and researcher based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His works have been exhibited internationally, including venues like Guggenheim, Museum of Modern Art in New York, M+ Museum, e-flux, Rotterdam, ICA, among many others. He is a PhD Candidate, Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis, Universiteit van Amsterdam.
PAN Lu a filmmaker and scholar based in Hong Kong. She received her PhD from Comparative Literature, The University of Hong Kong. She teaches Chinese-language cinema, literature and cultural history as an assistant professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
