Emily returns home to attend her cousin’s wedding. In this jovial setting, she struggles to confront the source of her past trauma.
Director
SONG Jinsui is a Chinese filmmaker based in Los Angeles. Her work has been featured on AMC+ and screened at the Cairo International Film Festival, St. Louis International Film Festival, and CAAMFest, among others. Her short film Tequila Sunset (2022) was selected for the Fountainhead programme at our fourth edition and won the Award Award. Her latest film, Something Blue, supported by the Panavision New Filmmaker Program, won the Grand Jury Award at the Florida Film Festival. Growing up in Shenzhen, a metropolis in Southeastern China, she struggled between traditional Cantonese values and modern aspirations. She endeavours to create films about women, in particular Chinese women, and the many facets of their womanhood.
