In the town of Lingbao, the middle-aged LI Wei (NAN Xin) coincidentally meets at a restaurant his online friend Miaomiao (LIU Lu), whom he hasn’t seen for ten years. With Miaomiao and her marriage candidate JIANG Zishuai (JIANG Jingjing), Li Wei and his friends go to one gathering after another – neither awkward nor comfortable, neither salty nor bland, neither sad nor joyful.
Director
Chinese director NAN Xin was born in 1990 in Lingbao, Sanmenxia, Henan Province. His creative journey first started in 2010, with wedding photography and short films. In 2021, he directed his debut feature film Go Fishing, which was selected to compete at the 16th FIRST International Film Festival (Xining, China) and acknowledged as an “Astonishing Debut”. It premiered in Xining in July 2022.
